Give Vijaya Mallya a break !!!

This morning I came across below article and thought of writing about it strongly.
Give Kingfisher Airline a chance ( or give Mr. Mallya a break)
My views: Yes he deserves a fair chance. The KFA also deserves a good chance, not to forget it was one of the best airlines while flying.
The hospitality was immaculate and the smiles were original. The legspace was decent and the food was warm !
Today what KFA is going through is not entirely due to its own mistakes. Air India which is highly subsidized is also one of the major culprits. It offers subsidized air-fares thereby pushing quality airlines to reduce their air-fares. In a highly price sensitive market like India it is very difficult to sell quality over the price. These lower air fares have often resulted into losses for Air India, which were then re-covered in the name of bail-out by Govt. Of India using tax payers money.
I ain't a businessman but I feel every business has its ups and downs, every business has its days of glory and gloom. Every business has grown that way. Tough times gives rise to creativity, generate newer ideas, promotes enterprise thereby taking the business to yet another heights.
KFA is also going through a rough patch .... rather a very sticky patch. Today KFA has stopped flying, which I guess is good for it as now they can re-assess / re-group and start afresh all over again.
Many a times I'm intrigued by the fact, that even during these tough times Vijaya Mallya has never sacked an employee, though understandably he didn't pay them for so long. He could have very easily reduced the staff to cut down cost (isn't it always been the easiest way out) but he didn't. Think !!! over it .... give Vijay Mallya a break !!!

  1. KFA has reported Q3 (oct-dec 2012 )loss at Rs755 crores thanks to idle planes and no substantial plans from the promoters.

  2. If I think carefully You are correct. He has to be given a fair chance of reviving the airline. I don't know why, people are making big hue and cry when it comes to KFA, whereas they don't make same kind of noise with other airlines. govt is running the AIR INdia and pumping in the funds. Every airline is going thro. problems and losses. but people talk about KFA alone. Give him a chance and let him prove his worth or allow him to sell when it is flying.

  3. "...too many people in the airline business have an ego the size of an A380. If we need to be successful in the Indian market, we need to be innovative. We have to do things that have not been done before."
